The Gujarat government is preparing for the 2036 Summer Olympics. Karnavati Club may play an important role in this development. The new Karnavati Club, also known as Karnavati Club Resort (KCR), is being developed on a land parcel of approximately 2 lakh square yards in Mulsana village, Kalol taluka. It will feature Olympic-standard archery and shooting ranges, along with many other sports facilities.
The estimated cost of KCR is around Rs 250 crore, while the club’s net worth is valued at around Rs 300 crore. This includes Rs 150 crore in liquid funds and Rs 150 crore worth of assets, excluding the KCR land.
The management of Karnavati Club plans to prepare the ground and provide basic amenities such as a restaurant, swimming pool, a few rooms, and entertainment activities at the KCR, which is about 30 km away from the existing club on SG Highway. They aim to make these facilities operational by the upcoming Navratri festival.
NG Patel, who is overseeing the planning, construction, and overall development of KCR, stated, “While our priority is to complete the initial phase of development for the new club, we also have plans to build an Olympic-standard archery and shooting range here.”
He further explained, “We aim to have the first phase of development completed before Navratri, so that we can hold the club’s garba event there. Additionally, given the strong possibility of Ahmedabad hosting the 2036 Olympics, we want to have archery and shooting facilities available for practice by participants.”
The club’s management aims to develop around 100 rooms at the KCR. If the Olympics do take place, the players will have access to all kinds of facilities there. The KCR is expected to be fully ready within the next 2-3 years.
Karnavati Club President Durgesh Buch told Mirror, “We are developing sports facilities that will meet Olympic standards. The work on KCR, which is being designed by an international firm, is currently in progress. We will soon release a teaser video during the upcoming Swarnim Tambola event on February 4.”
He added, “While the membership drive is ongoing, we are not in a hurry to attract members. We want the growth to happen organically. I am confident that once members see the development of KCR, they would want their children to become members as well, just like others are doing.”
For the installment payment option, applicants can pay Rs 2 lakh as a down payment and then pay an installment of Rs 1 lakh every two months (totaling six installments in a year), resulting in a total of Rs 8 lakh. However, with complete down payment, Karnavati Club is offering a discount of Rs 75,000, making the total payable amount for KCR membership Rs 7.25 lakh. It is a lifetime membership with transferable rights, allowing members to sell it if desired at a future date.
