Ranbir Kapoor, the acclaimed actor, paid homage to his father, Rishi Kapoor, and his daughter, Raha, during his acceptance speech at the Filmfare Awards in Gujarat. Kapoor, who was honored with the Best Actor award for his performance in the film “Animal,” dedicated his victory to his father and daughter. A fan page shared a video of Kapoor receiving his award.
In his heartfelt speech, Kapoor expressed his daily thoughts and feelings for his father, “Every day I think of you, I remember you and everything that I feel for you…the love, the affection I try to channelize it through this part and I hope you are up there in peace and resting.”
Kapoor also had a special message for his daughter Raha, who he affectionately referred to as “naughty.” He shared that she was born a week before he began shooting for “Animal” and that coming home to her every day has been the most joyful experience of his life. He excitedly told her, “Mumma and papa are bringing you a bua and a massi (referring to black lady) tonight to play… I can’t wait to experience every adventure with you…I love you naughty. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen…see you at the movies.”
The Filmfare Awards saw “Animal,” directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, leading with six trophies. Vidhu Vino Chopra’s “12th Fail” won some of the night’s biggest awards, including Best Film and Best Director. In the Critics category, Vikrant Massey won the Best Actor award for “12th Fail.” Rani Mukherji and Shefali Shah shared the Best Actress (Critics) award for their performances in “Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway” and “Three Of Us,” respectively. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to filmmaker David Dhawan.
