Prasanth Varma and Tejja Sajja’s ‘Hanu Man’ is a modern re-imagining of the epic tale of Lord Hanuman. The film has surprised everyone with its phenomenal box office performance. In its first week, it surpassed ‘Guntur Kaaram’, the much-hyped film of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram, which released on the same day. While Mahesh Babu’s film started off strong, it soon lost its momentum and ‘Hanu Man’ gained popularity with its positive word of mouth.
‘Hanu Man’ is now in its third week and is on the verge of crossing the $5 million mark. It earned about $3 million in the first four days and added another $1.7 million in the next 11 days, bringing its 15 day total to $4,824,909. On Saturday, ‘Hanu Man’ collected another $137,413 from 178 locations, taking its over all total to $ 4962322. The film is now facing a challenge from Hrithik Roshan and Siddharth Anand’s ‘Fighter’, which has raked in about $3 million in three days, making it one of the best openings for Hrithik Roshan in the region.
