The upcoming Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset, set to launch on February 2nd, will come with a hefty repair price tag, according to the company’s official website. While the exact Indian price hasn’t been confirmed, the US repair cost translates to roughly Rs 2 lakh, making accidental damage a costly affair.
Apple Vision Pro, priced at $3,499 in the US (roughly Rs 2.91 lakh in India), demands caution from users, especially those without AppleCare+ protection. A cracked glass on the headset incurs a repair cost of $799 (around Rs 53,000), while damage to other components can reach a staggering $2,399 (roughly Rs 2 lakh).
AppleCare+, costing $499 for two years or $24.99 monthly, might seem tempting, but even with the coverage, repairs aren’t entirely free. Fixing a cracked glass with AppleCare+ would still cost $798 (around Rs 53,000), marginally less than without the plan.
However, AppleCare+ proves its worth for damages beyond the glass, significantly reducing the repair cost from $2,399 to $299 (around Rs 20,000).
Therefore, regardless of choosing AppleCare+, handling the Vision Pro with utmost care is crucial, as repairs can be financially draining.
Apple hasn’t announced the official Indian launch date for the Vision Pro yet. Following its US debut, the UK, Canada, and China are rumored to be next in line. While the Indian launch date remains uncertain, there’s a chance it might be included in later phases.
