The company is investing Rs 3,000 crore to set up the country’s largest shopping mall in Ahmedabad.
V Nandakumar, director of marketing and relationship department of Lulu Group, said at the Vibrant Gujarat that this is a great vision of the Chief Minister. He had started Vibrant Gujarat 20 years ago. This is a big international event. People come here to invest generously and also get benefits. We are going to build India’s largest shopping mall in Ahmedabad. We will start the construction of the Rs 3,000 crore shopping mall with all modern amenities from the beginning of next year.
He further said that after Kochi (Kerala) and Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), this will be the third shopping mall of Lulu Group in the country. This will provide indirect employment to 6,000 people in the state and direct employment to more than 12,000 people. Nandakumar said that the final talks on land acquisition for the construction of the project are underway and the foundation stone of the mega shopping mall will be laid in the beginning of next year.
The shopping mall in Ahmedabad will have more than 300 national and international brands. It will have a multi-cuisine restaurant with a capacity of 3,000 people, the country’s largest entertainment center for children, a 15-screen multiplex with a top-notch, and many other attractions. Let us tell you that during the recent UAE Road Show organized by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Dubai, Lulu Group and Gujarat Government had signed an MoU. The Rs 3,000 crore investment of Lulu Group International is the result of that.
Nandakumar said that our aim is to make Ahmedabad one of the most popular shopping destinations in India and there is no doubt that this shopping mall will be a milestone destination for everyone in India and abroad.
It is noteworthy that Lulu Group mainly does business in 23 countries in the Middle East, Asia, US and Europe. Its annual turnover is USD 8 billion and its staff force is more than 60,000.
