Is Earth not a sphere?

Most of us know the earth to be spherical, and it is scientifically proven to be true. But, could you imagine the world to be flat with a shape that has edges? Imagining the earth being flat, the people standing near the poles should drown in the centre and fall at the edge of the universe. But, it is just imagination as science also has an answer to this.

Till the end of life, the interdependence among the creatures needs to be followed. To keep the balance of mother nature intact, it is the primary aspect. The food chain and balance between the wildlife and creatures comprising the earth will be disturbed.

Earth, as we know, is the only known planet to have life in our solar system and the universe that has been explored till now. The basis of the existence of life is that the earth is divided into various temperature zones, each having its uniqueness and significance. For example, the countries around the equator and the torrid zone receive direct sunlight. As these countries are warmer, it becomes an ideal habitat for plants and animals to survive. Whereas, the places near the poles, called the frigid zone, are the coldest. Antarctica, being an example, is snow-covered throughout the year. But, if the earth is flat, the regions will be at the same temperatures, then it would have forced mankind to change their lifestyle, thus dismantling the chain of nature.

The existence of all these variants has been possible as the earth revolves around the sun from an appropriate distance. The shape is an advantage. If it was a flat surface, the chances of imbalance in the orbit of revolution would have resulted in colossal destruction, early on. So, let’s pray the earth remains a sphere and balance is sustained among wildlife, vegetation, temperature and human life.
