Ahmedabad Housewives’ problems have increased. The Gharghati(A women who do all the housework) of Orchid Elegance and Gala Marvela in South Bopal area of Ahmedabad have gone on strike. Around 110 Gharghati have gone on strike together. Ghatghati has been paid 800 rupees for one job. It has been demanded to increase this remuneration to one thousand rupees. Gharghati says that prices should increase with inflation, which is not happening. House rents have become expensive, making it difficult to make ends meet. On the other hand, home ownership is also some of their problems. As housekeepers usually do not get any weekly off, their salary is deducted whenever they take leave. However, the difficulty of working women has increased due to sudden strike.
