Four Private Schools in Ahmedabad Lose Recognition

Ahmedabad: Four private schools in Ahmedabad have had their recognition revoked by the primary education department due to irregularities in their infrastructure and false information submitted during the application process.

The affected schools :

  • Shraddha International English School (Geratpur)
  • Bhagwati Balmandir and Primary School (Geratpur)
  • Nutan School (English & Gujarati Medium) (Hatkeshwar)
  • Mitul Primary School (Hatkeshwar)

Shared Campus, False Affidavit Led to Closure

The closure of Shraddha and Bhagwati schools, both operating under the Nutan Education Trust on the same campus, is particularly noteworthy. Opened in 2022, these schools obtained recognition based on a false affidavit claiming multiple classrooms. However, the investigation revealed that both schools shared the same campus with only six classrooms.

Safety Concerns Prompted Hatkeshwar School Closures

In the Hatkeshwar area, Nutan School and Mitul Primary School faced closure due to inadequate infrastructure and the absence of necessary safety certificates and building reports. Operating for ten years, these schools posed potential risks to students, prompting the authorities to revoke their recognition.

DEO Warns of Strict Action Against False Information

Assistant District Education Officer Bharatsinh Gohil stated that the schools’ accreditation was revoked to protect students’ interests. He emphasized the importance of providing accurate information during the application process and warned against false affidavits, highlighting the seriousness of such offenses.

This incident serves as a reminder to educational institutions to adhere to established regulations and prioritize student safety. The primary education department’s strict action against these schools sends a clear message that inaccurate information and improper infrastructure will not be tolerated.
