City gas distribution company Torrent Gas Limited has appointed Manoj Jain as its Managing Director with effect from January 1, 2024. Prior to this, Manoj Jain served as Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL (India) Limited from February 2020 to August 2022.
A seasoned business leader with an excellent track record in multiple sectors, Manoj Jain is widely regarded as an expert in the oil and gas sector. He has rich and varied experience in business development, gas marketing, projects, petrochemicals, and pipeline integrity management etc.
Jain, a mechanical engineer with an MBA in operations management, joined GAIL in 1985 as a graduate engineer trainee and steadily progressed to the position of chairman and managing director, media reports quoted a Torrent Gas press statement as saying.
Regarding the new appointment, Torrent Group chairman Sameer Mehta was quoted as saying that Torrent Gas is entering a special phase of growth in media reports. The structure of Torrent is spread over 34 districts.
Torrent is determined to make a strong presence in the oil and gas sector.
