In a gathering organised by FICCI, the focus was on individuals and organisations making strides in the healthcare sector. The event, named the ’15th FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards,’ celebrated contributions in the field and concluded with the presentation of the ‘Healthcare Personality of the Year Award 2023’ to Dr. Vikram Shah for his achievements.
At the occasion, Sharmila Tagore, a figure in cinema, praised India’s healthcare sector advancements. She expressed confidence in India’s healthcare capabilities at the awards ceremony, emphasising progress over recent decades.
She commended technology integration into healthcare and stated that India’s medical professionals can deliver world-class treatment, negating the need for seeking care abroad. Ms. Tagore also appreciated FICCI hosting the ‘Healthcare Excellence Awards’ annually, recognising noteworthy contributions to the healthcare domain.
C. K. Mishra, the former Secretary of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change in the Government of India and the Chair of the Jury for FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards 2023, highlighted the Indian healthcare sector’s journey. He asserted that a healthier India is now within reach and acknowledged progress made in the industry.
Mr. Mishra urged for continued hard work, exploration of new avenues, and a commitment to ensuring quality healthcare for all, reinforcing that a healthy India is no longer a distant aspiration but a tangible reality that requires collective efforts and positive transformation in the healthcare sector.
Dr. Harsh Mahajan, Chair of the FICCI Health Services Committee at the 15th FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards, emphasised the urgency of accelerating efforts in the healthcare arena. He stressed that these awards, designed to honour contributions to the healthcare sector, can motivate further progress.
Echoing Dr. Mahajan’s sentiment, Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Co-Chair of the FICCI Health Services Committee, underscored the vital role of recognising excellence in driving the sector forward, acknowledging the importance of celebrating commendable work for the sake of progress.
The ’15th FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards’ hosted by FICCI stood as a testament to the commitment to recognising and rewarding organisations and individuals for their contributions across various healthcare categories. The evaluation process was based on three critical criteria: Innovation, Impact, Sustainability and Scalability; overseen by a distinguished independent jury panel led by C K Mishra.
