Is WhatsApp just a messaging tool? Far from it. Not only is it a quick substitute for email, but it’s also a platform for marketing, a medium to facilitate UPI transactions, an option for video conferences, and a matchmaker too.
While similar messaging platforms have emerged in recent times, a day without WhatsApp seems unreal.
Now, you have lost your phone and are using your friend’s Android smartphone. You may be able to use it for basic functions like calling, SMSing and even Google-ing.
But you might not be able to use WhatsApp on it. Reason? The phone is incompatible with WhatsApp’s new functions.
WhatsApp has discontinued support for Android OS versions lower than 5.0.
Starting October 24, 2023, the instant messaging app will no longer function on older Android and iPhone devices, media reports claimed.
WhatsApp wants to focus on creating new features for users of more recent operating system versions while using the latest security features and technological advancements.
