A Class 6 student died of a sudden heart attack in Gujarat’s Dwarka, while two other men in their mid-twenties succumbed to cardiac arrest in Rajkot city. The recent deaths come as a shock while experts renew debate as to what is causing heart attack in youngsters.
The 12-year-boy Class 6 boy, identified as Dushyant Piprotar, was found unconscious in the courtyard of his house at around 5:30am in Vijapur village of Dwarka’s Bhanvad taluka.
“As per her daily routine, my mother woke up early, but was surprised to see him lying in the courtyard. On checking, we found that he was not breathing. We took him to a doctor but he was dead by then,” Dushyant’s father Ghanshyam said. He said his son had not taken Covid-19 vaccine.
“Students, teachers and the entire village are extremely shocked by Dushyant’s sudden death. We observed two minutes of silence to mourn his demise,” said Vijapur primary school principal.
Meanwhile, in Rajkot, a 23-year-old man, Nimit Sadrani, collapsed near a pharmacy on Nana Mauva Road after suffering a stinging chest pain. People called the 108 emergency ambulance and shifted him to a private hospital. However, doctors declared him dead, citing massive cardiac arrest.
“We have registered a case of accidental death. His father was too traumatised to speak. He got an interview call from a bank but he died before reaching,” said an official at Rajkot Taluka police station.
In another similar case, a 24-year-old man, Jasmin Vaghasiya, died in the factory of his relative in Khokhaddad village. Vaghasiya reached the factory and offered the daily prayers when he suddenly collapsed. People in the factory rushed him to the civil hospital where doctors declared him dead before admission.
