An 18-year-old university student died on the hostel campus in Vadodara due to suspected heart attack.
A student of MS University in the city, Deep Shyamji Chaudhary had gone to the hostel to meet his friends when the incident happened.
Originally hailing from Patan district, Chaudhary was in second year BSC (zoology) at the Faculty of Science. He used to stay as a paying guest in the city.
Chaudhary went to meet his friends in the KM Munshi Hall of the hostel campus after having dinner. “He was chatting and laughing with his friends when he collapsed. I was in the hostel at that time and rushed to the room when a student accompanying him in the room called me,” said Tejas Solanki, a student leader who knew Chaudhary well.
He was rushed to the SSG Hospital (SSGH) where he was declared dead. Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof Hari Katariya said a cardiac arrest was believed to be the reason for the death. “A postmortem has been performed on the body and more details will emerge once the report is ready,” he said.
Chaudhary’s father, an assistant sub-inspector in the police department, rushed to the city on getting information.
Solanki said Chaudhary was very good at studies and also a wildlife photography enthusiast.
