Rajkot Airport witnessed a commotion when a pilot refused to fly a scheduled plane to New Delhi. The incident occurred on Sunday night when the pilot declared his shift was over.
The situation escalated as pilot insisted on a replacement from New Delhi. Reports indicate that the flight carried not only 100 passengers but also three Members of Parliament.
The pilot’s decision led to chaos, with numerous phone calls and messages exchanged between the authorities and him. Even the New Delhi headquarters attempted to mediate and resolve the situation. However, the pilot remained firm, resulting in a three-hour delay for the stranded passengers.
Meetings and discussions ensued among the airport staff, the pilot’s superiors, and the management to arrive at a solution. Eventually, it was decided that if the main pilot from Rajkot refused to fly the New Delhi-bound flight, it would be cancelled.
Finally, a new flight was arranged for Monday, pending the arrival of a replacement pilot from New Delhi.
Updates are awaited on whether the passengers will be accommodated on an emergency basis on the rescheduled flight. It’s uncertain whether the pilot will reach the capital today and fly the plane.
