CM Bhupesh Baghel Highlights Role Of Roads In Chhattisgarh’s Development

Over 9884 km of roads have been upgraded in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel highlighted the significant role of roads in the state’s development. Over the past four and a half years, a substantial amount of funds has been allocated for numerous road and bridge projects.

The Chief Minister’s vision for development in all districts of Chhattisgarh is gradually being realised through the enhancement of the state’s road infrastructure. He emphasised that the roads in Chhattisgarh serve as vital connections, paving the way for future growth, supporting trade and tourism, and contributing to the economic prosperity of rural areas.

During the past four and a half years, an impressive allocation of approximately Rs 16,670 crores has been dedicated to a comprehensive range of road and bridge projects, totaling 7,406. Additionally, approximately Rs 908 crores have been approved for 419 building projects.

These improvements include asphaltization of 4,410 kilometres of roads, resurfacing of 3,244 kilometres of existing roads, widening of 1,113 kilometres of roads, strengthening of 588 kilometres of roads, and cement-concretization of 898 kilometres of roads.
