| Updated: July 3, 2023 16:45

On one hand the Gujarat government has been making tall claims about how it is hell bent on eradicating corruption and on other hand there are allegations being made that deliberate motivated decisions are being taken and transfers done to keep the “system” going.

A GIDC order today has become the talk of GIDCs across Gujarat.

Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) Rahul Gupta

In an order issued today by the vice chairman and managing director of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) Rahul Gupta, an incharge superintendent engineer has been given an additional charge of a chief engineer bypassing two regular superintendent engineers.

What has become the talk of town in Gandhinagar is that why has Ramesh D Bhagora, an incharge superintendent engineer (M&E) been given the additional charge of the chief engineer. Sources in GIDC claimed that there was an ulterior motive behind this move. The vice chairman and Managing director of GIDC Rahul Gupta said that Bhagora was being given the Chief Engineer’s additional charge for administrative interest.

Sources said GIDC already has two full time regular superintending engineers Yusuf Pathan and B C Warli but they had been bypassed and an executive engineer who had been made an incharge superintending engineer has now been given the chief engineer’s charge.

GIDC has been created for securing the orderly establishment and organization of industries in industrial areas and industrial estates in the state. To fulfill the above mandate, the Corporation has established 224 industrial estate.GIDC is now establishing Special Investment Regions, PCPIR, Industrial areas and large /sector-specific estates in tune with the changing economic and industrial scenario.
