On Thursday, an Indian Air Force (IAF) Kiran trainer aircraft went down in a field near a village in the district. Two of the aircraft’s pilots, though, managed to safely escape before impact.
This morning at Bhogapura village, a training aircraft that had taken off from the air force station in Bengaluru crashed. District officials reported minor injuries to Tejpal and Bhumika. There were no casualties reported.
The pilots were reportedly on a routine training sortie when the mishap took place, according to the IAF. To determine the reason for the accident, a court of inquiry was mandated.
“Today, an IAF Kiran trainer aircraft that was on a regular training sortie crashed near Chamrajnagar, Karnataka. Both air crew members safely evacuated. To determine the accident’s cause, a court of inquiry has been appointed, the IAF tweeted. An IAF team and senior district authorities arrived at the location.
