Imran Khan, chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on Saturday, criticised Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Foreign Minister, for travelling abroad while the nation is currently experiencing “crises,” according to Dawn.
While Foreign Minister Bilawal visited India on Thursday to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Goa, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently in the UK for the coronation of King Charles III.
Imran Khan targeted the two leaders while speaking to a PTI rally in Lahore from inside his vehicle. The purpose of the rally was to express solidarity and support for the Pakistan Supreme Court, the Constitution, and Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial.
“Pakistan is being humiliated in the world. We ask the question, Bilawal you are touring the entire world but first tell us, before going, do you ask anyone that you’re spending the country’s money on a trip, so what will be the benefit or loss from it?” Khan said.
According to Dawn, the PTI leader questioned the worth of the trip to India. In his remarks at the SCO meeting, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that terrorism in all of its manifestations, including cross-border terrorism, must be put to an end. Typically, Jaishankar was making a reference to Pakistan.
“We firmly believe that there can be no justification for terrorism and it must be stopped in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism,” he added.
Later, he stated that Pakistan supported terrorists in Kashmir, and the country’s foreign minister’s position was “found out and called out.”
