In a case involving the alleged misuse of funds raised through crowdfunding, the Supreme Court on Monday granted bail to Saket Gokhale, a spokesperson of the Trinamool Congress.
While providing the spokesperson with respite, a bench comprising Justices B R Gavai and Vikram Nath noted that a charge sheet has already been filed in the case.
On December 30, 2022, Gokhale was taken into custody by the Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch in Delhi. He is facing charges under IPC sections 467 (forgery), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 420 (cheating).
