Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, criticised the central government on Friday for disqualifying Rahul Gandhi from the Lok Sabha and claimed that the Congress leader was not allowed to speak (in the Parliament) and present his argument.
Gehlot stated that MK Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru’s establishment of India’s democracy is the reason why Narendra Modi is the country’s current prime minister.
“Today PM Modi is the PM because Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru established democracy in the country 75 yrs ago. BJP is misusing the ED and CBI and all other central institutions. Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification was planned by them. PM did not answer any of Rahul Gandhi’s questions. No one gave him (Rahul Gandhi) chance to speak,” Gehlot said.
“Rahul Gandhi raised the Adani issue, and the government should answer in Parliament but they didn’t. Instead of answering his question, they pushed him out of the Parliament,” Gehlot said in Ajmer.
Where is the country heading? There is a threat to democracy. Raids by the ED, IT, and CBI continue. There is pressure on the judges. The CM questioned how long this would continue.
“It affects the country’s democracy, and constitution. Thus, citizens should be aware that the country’s situation is concerning,” he concluded.
