The number of new coronavirus cases in India reached 1,890, the highest number in 149 days, while the number of active cases rose to 9,433, according to figures provided on Sunday by the Union health ministry.
On October 28 of last year, there were 2,208 cases reported in the nation in a single day. With seven deaths, the overall death toll has risen to 5,30,831. According to the data updated at 8 am, Kerala reconciled three deaths in a 24-hour period while Maharashtra and Gujarat each reported two deaths.
The weekly positivity rate was estimated to be 1.29 per cent, whereas the daily positivity rate was 1.56 per cent. The total number of cases involving Covid was 4.47 crore (4,47,04,147).
According to the ministry, the percentage of infections that are still active is currently 0.02 per cent, and the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.79 per cent.
4,41,63,883 individuals have recovered from the disease, while the case fatality rate has been reported at 1.19 per cent.
220.65 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have reportedly been administered in the nation as a part of the extensive vaccination campaign, according to the ministry’s website.
