Gujarat’s daily Covid total reached double digits after almost a month. Ten cases of Covid were reported in the state, of which seven were isolated to Ahmedabad.
Although there have been no hospitalisations, the issue is not considered serious, but experts are closely monitoring the Covid pattern. The frequency of viral infections with viral fever, cough, and other flu-like symptoms has increased over the last few days.
To put the numbers in context, on February 9, there were only four active Covid cases, which was a record low. On Wednesday, the total rose to 26 in just 20 days. In the middle of February, there hadn’t been a new case for over a week; the surge had only been noticed in the previous few days.
According to government estimates, there are around 8,000 daily tests in Gujarat and 1,000 in Ahmedabad, despite a sharp decline in the number of daily cases.
