Ahead of Oscars 2023, SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR will be re-released in theaters in the United States on March 3. Variance Films, which distributed RRR in US, made the announcement on their social media.
The entire RRR team will be in the US for the Oscars. While music director MM Keeravaani and lyricist Chandra Bose have already arrived, Ram Charan is in New York. He appeared on the Good Morning Show and will now travel to LA. Since there was a bereavement in Jr NTR’s family, he will fly to the US soon.
Director SS Rajamouli had expressed his disappointment over the fact that RRR was not India’s official Oscar entry. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said, “Yeah, it is disappointing. But I am happy because it (Chhello Show/ The Last Film Show) is also an Indian film and it has also been shortlisted for the Oscars. Of course, everyone knew RRR had a much bigger chance. Here (in the US) everyone felt RRR had a bigger chance. But I don’t know how the committee (Film Federation of India), what are guidelines for the committee. I can’t comment on that.”
