In connection with a case involving illegal operations by the outlawed group Popular Front of India (PFI), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at seven places in Rajasthan on Saturday, an official said.
Many locations in Kota, as well as one each in the districts of Madhopur, Bhilwara, Bundi, and Jaipur, saw raids on the homes and businesses of suspects, according to the central anti-terror agency spokesperson.
The officer claimed that incriminating papers, an airgun, digital gadgets, and sharp weapons were all recovered during the inspections. According to the spokesperson, the searches were carried out in response to a case that the NIA had suo moto filed on September 19 of last year after receiving information from trustworthy sources that PFI members Sadiq Sarraf of Baran and Mohammed Asif of Kota were engaging in “unlawful activities” alongside other office-holders and cadres.
The representative indicated that additional inquiry into the case is ongoing.
