Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, claimed on Monday that the company’s team “finished” a number of tasks “overnight,” including expanding the reach of retweets and “removing the filter causing false negatives.”
Musk tweeted, “More work team completed over night. Removed height penalty affecting tweets with pics/video, increased # of recommended tweets, better tracking of dropped tweets, removed filter causing false negatives, removed penalty if the user follows author, the improved reach of retweet.”
On Sunday, Musk said that the engineers spent a “full day at Twitter HQ” with him solving two critical issues with the microblogging platform. When he tweeted, “up to 95% of my tweets didn’t get transmitted at all,” he claimed, because the “Fanout service for Following feed” was getting overwhelmed.
Furthermore, he claimed that the percentage block count was being replaced by an absolute block count in the recommendation system, which “caused accounts with many followers to be ejected, even if blocks were barely 0.1% of followers.”
Also rectified this week, according to Musk, are large fonts and inadequate paragraph spacing.
