Twitter, the popular microblogging platform, has launched its premium subscription service, Twitter Blue, for users in India. The new paid service provides early access to new innovations, as well as the coveted blue checkmark that is added next to the user’s profile name.
Twitter Blue is available on both iOS and Android smartphones, as well as on the web. Monthly subscription costs in India are 900 rupees for iOS and Android users, while web users pay a fee of 650 rupees. The annual plan, available only on the web, costs 6,800 rupees, approximately 566 rupees per month. In comparison, Twitter Blue costs $8 per month on the web and $11 per month on iOS and Android devices in the US, with an annual plan of $84.
Previously, the blue checkmark was only given to genuine accounts of well-known public figures, actors, politicians, and journalists. However, with the launch of Twitter Blue, anyone who pays the subscription cost can purchase the blue tick.
Twitter Blue members will also have early access to features such as edit tweets, custom app icons, NFT profile images, and bookmark folders. Additionally, they can choose from multiple color schemes for their app, prioritize tweet replies, and even delete a tweet before it is seen by others. The regular character limit of 280 characters is also increased to 4,000 for Twitter Blue subscribers. Furthermore, they can submit longer videos of up to 60 minutes or up to 2 GB in size.
Twitter Blue is now available in a number of countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, France, and India. With the launch of Twitter Blue in India, users now have the opportunity to enjoy a premium experience on the popular microblogging platform.
