Twitter, which is now owned by Elon Musk, has raised the monthly fee for its Blue service for Android users to $11. For the blue checkmark and early access to features, the Twitter Blue plan starts at $8 per month or $84 per year in countries where it is available.
“All Twitter Blue features will be available immediately except the blue checkmark, which may take time to appear to ensure review of subscribed accounts meets all requirements,” according to the company’s Help Centre page.
Subscribers have the option to improve and personalise their Twitter experience with Blue checkmarks. These features include unique app icons, custom navigation, top stories, the ability to undo tweets, lengthier video uploads, and more.
Only the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and the UK presently offer the Twitter Blue plan on the web, iOS, or Android. The company said, “it reserves the right without notice to remove your blue checkmark at any time in its sole discretion without offering you a refund, including if you violate our Terms of Service or if your account is suspended.”
The microblogging site added that it is also testing a new service for businesses on Twitter called Twitter Verification for Organizations, which provides a golden checkmark to official corporate accounts.
