An exhibition by Kolkata-based artist Chandana Hore, which depicts the realities of women and their everyday struggle, debuted on Tuesday at the Amdavad ni Gufa in Ahmedabad.
She has exhibited pieces from her college years in the exhibition “Strings & Strands.” In the 1990s, Hore attended the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT).
“I feel as an artist, it is my duty to celebrate life,” says Hore who says the pandemic took a toll on her health.
Her most recent paintings are more influenced by films, television dramas, and traditional music. Although Hore claims to be at ease in many mediums, oil medium is where she does most of her work. She claims she uses objects that other people consider to be “ugly” in her artwork.
