The Director General of Police (DGP) has been advised to have the clippings of the “Pathaan” movie song “Besharam Rang” and other obscene content removed from social media as they are having a “detrimental impact on the psyche of adolescents,” according to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district.
The CWC, Bahraich (bench of magistrate), has written to the DGP stating that it has taken a suo moto cognizance of obscene contents, including the “Besharam Rang” song, being shared on social media using the authority granted under the relevant section of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015.
In a letter to the DGP, Satish Kumar Srivastava, the president of the Bahraich CWC, and a four-member bench made up of Deepmala Pradhan, Archana Pandey, and Navneet Mishra claimed that the Uttar Pradesh government had given teenagers smartphones for their all-around development and that they could not be prevented from accessing readily available content.
The letter claims that in this circumstance it is imperative for their benefit that vulgar content be taken down from social media. On January 25, 2023, the film Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, will be released.
