Amit Shah, the union home minister, will host two high-level talks on Leh-Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday night, according to government sources. According to the report, the meeting on Leh-Ladakh would start at 3pm, and the one on Jammu and Kashmir would start at around 4 pm.
The Lieutenant Governors of Ladakh and J-K will attend the meetings, which will be held in the Ministry of Home Affairs’ North Block office.
The meeting will also include L-Gs, Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, senior Ministry of Home Affairs officials, and representatives from the two UTs. The meetings are expected to cover development initiatives in both UTs, as well as security and other topics.
In light of the Covid threat, both UTs are expected to be directed to take appropriate action. The UTs will also be advised to increase their medical supplies, acquire them as needed, and send out announcements to all village surveillance committees to encourage activity.
