Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra experienced a security breach, according to KC Venugopal, the general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), in a letter to home minister Amit Shah. He claimed that the Z+ protection provided to Rahul Gandhi was not properly maintained by the Delhi police. The security has allegedly been breached numerous times, according to AICC.
In a letter to the home minister, Venugopal said that on December 24, when the Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Delhi, the Delhi police absolutely failed to manage the crowds and maintain a perimeter around Rahul Gandhi. He continued by saying that while the Delhi police stood by as “silent spectators,” Congress workers and the “Bharat Yatris” needed to establish the perimeter.
He claimed that the Intelligence Bureau (IB) is questioning numerous Yatra participants. Additionally, Congress reported “unknown miscreants” from Haryana State Intelligence as having illegally infiltrated the Yatra in Haryana in a FIR dated December 23 at Sohna City Police Station, Haryana.
Venugopal also urged the administration to refrain from engaging in “vindictive politics,” noting that Article 19 of the Constitution guarantees each person the freedom to congregate and roam around the country without restriction. He defended the intention by citing the sacrifices made by Rajiv Gandhi and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for the “unity and integrity of the country” and the 2013 attack on the Chhattisgarh state leadership of the Congress by Naxals in Jiramghati.
As the Bharat Jodo Yatra is scheduled to travel through Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir, he requested that the Home Ministry provide Z+ protection for Rahul Gandhi.
