The Veer Baal Diwas is being held at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in Delhi, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is present. This year, PM Modi proclaimed December 26 to be observed as “Veer Baal Diwas” in remembrance of the “Sahibzades,” the four sons of the final Sikh guru Guru Gobind Singh, on the occasion of Sri Guru Gobind Singh’s Prakash Purab.
In accordance with Sikh custom, the prime minister covered his head while attending the cultural event at the celebrations. PM Modi participated in the “Shabad Kirtan” and will lead a march-past of about 3,000 kids through the nation’s capital.
PM Modi made the announcement that he would be attending the Veer Baal Diwas celebrations in Delhi on his Mann Ki Baat radio show.
The “Veer Baal Diwas” commemorates the deaths of the Sahibzadas, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, who are supposed to have died as infant martyrs at the ages of six and nine. Guru Gobind Singh’s four sons were all killed in battle. They were executed on Aurangzeb’s orders because they had a reputation for opposing the Mughal army. The modern-day Fatehgarh Sahib is the location of their grave, where they were buried alive.
