After launching an exhibition at the Jawahar Kala Kendra on Saturday to commemorate the conclusion of the government’s four-year term, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave a press conference address at CMR.
Gehlot remarked, “OPS was introduced for the employees, yet there is resistance. NK Singh, the chairman of the Finance Commission, and NITI Aayog were both against it. Numerous economists around the world are against it. The Prime Minister opposes OPS personally. OPS has been put into effect for humanitarian reasons. Having worked for the government for 35 years, an employee must feel secure. Having recognised this humanitarian foundation, I implemented OPS,” he elaborated.
Gehlot stated that the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) burden will be reduced after 25 years. There is a social security era. Money is received in wealthy nations within a week. In this, the state and the federal governments should each contribute half of the funding.
On being asked about the political model of a state getting traction in the nation, he said “When I will take political retirement, I will take political class, all skills and experience will be mentioned in it.”
