On Monday, Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) announced the commissioning of its third hybrid power plant in Rajasthan, which has a 450-megawatt generating capacity (MW). With a 1,440 MW operational capacity, AGEL claimed this made it the “world’s largest wind-solar hybrid power developer.”
“AGEL has commissioned its third wind-solar hybrid power plant at Jaisalmer. The combined operational generation capacity of this newly commissioned hybrid power plant is 450 MW. The plant has Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) with SECI at Rs 2.67/kWh for 25 years,” AGEL stated in an official statement.
This project includes 420 MW of solar power and 105 MW of wind power. The first hybrid power plant in India, a 390 MW unit operated by AGEL in May 2022, was followed by a 600 MW unit located near Jaisalmer. The company’s total operating generation capacity is 7.17 GW, and its hybrid power generation capacity has hit the 1,440 MW mark.
With a total portfolio size of 20.4 GW, which includes operating, under-construction, and awarded assets, AGEL has one of the largest global portfolios of renewable energy.
