Prime Minister Modi continued his campaigning for the upcoming Gujarat elections today. PM Modi discussed the economic and religious importance of cows in Indian society in his first address at Kankrej. PM Modi spoke about the BJP’s certain victory in Gujarat in his second address at Patan.
Hitting out at the opposition, PM Modi slammed the Congress for stalling development in Gujarat for decades. PM Modi said, “There has been a firm identity of the Congress – to stall, to hang, to wander. Whatever the work, Congress sees its own interest first, and the interest of the country later”. PM Modi added that Congress failed to understand the problems faced by the farmers and said that many irrigation projects were stalled by them which only got completed after the BJP took power in the centre.
PM Modi iterated on a few examples of corruption undertaken by the Congress and said, “Congress used to do scams worth thousands and lakhs of crores. Congress had made corruption a courtesy”
PM Modi finally addressed the people about the development initiatives undertaken by the BJP over the last 20 years, particularly in border areas, saying, “Facilities are being developed in border villages so that, instead of migration, more employment and self-employment opportunities are created in the villages.”
“The BJP government has taken several unprecedented decisions ranging from Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao to recruiting daughters in the army,” PM Modi said of the steps taken by the BJP government to empower the role of women in society. PM Modi also stated that the International Year of Millets will benefit Bajra farmers in the Patan region greatly.
PM Modi spoke about Gujarat farmers’ early adoption of solar energy. In addition, PM Modi stated that Gujarat’s untapped tourism potential is being developed holistically and will create jobs for the youth.
