The prime ministers’ research fellowship (PMRF) has been given to 16 doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) students from the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) for the May 2022 cycle. PMRF program has been beneficial to a total of 47 scholars at the institute.
The PhD candidates who were awarded the fellowship are now working on interdisciplinary projects at IITGN:

The PMRF scheme was introduced in 2018–19, and candidates are chosen via a strict selection procedure at the national level. The PMRF scheme is one of the most prestigious research fellowships in the country. PMRF candidates are selected through a rigorous selection process at the national level. Aside from the mandatory GATE and degree requirements, candidates are evaluated based on research exposure, publications, performance in international competitions, grades, and recommendation letters. The selection also demands a strong research proposal and publications in reputed journals and conferences as well.
