A 25-year-old woman filed a complaint with Anandnagar police on Wednesday, November 10, 2022, alleging that her domestic worker molested her when she was alone at home on Wednesday morning.
The woman said in her FIR that her mother teaches at a CBSE school in Vastrapur and that her father is an income-tax employee who has been sent to Karnataka. She is usually at home alone in the first half of the day.
In June, she stated her mother hired a domestic worker named Jagdish Meena, 40, of Vejalpur. Her mother left for work on Wednesday morning and Meena arrived at the house at about 10 a.m.
The complainant stated that she let him in to do the chores.
She alleged that while watching TV on a sofa in the drawing room, Meena suddenly grabbed her and began to molest her. She screamed at him. He then apologised and begged her not to tell her mother that he had made a mistake. He then fled the house.
The complainant stated that she was terrified and contacted her mother.
Her mother rushed home and they filed a police report. Meena was arrested by Vejalpur police and charged with molestation.
According to investigators, Meena moved to the city about a year ago and worked at numerous houses.
