Bharatiya Tribal Party announced the names of the 12 candidates for the upcoming elections in Gujarat. Before the elections, the alliance between BTP and Aam Aadmi Party had also ended.
In 2017, the BTP made an alliance with the Congress Party but this time, they will fight alone.
BTP was founded by a heavyweight tribal leader Chhotubhai Vasava, 78–he is seven-time MLA from Jhagadia seat. His son Mahesh Vasava, 55, the two-time MLA from the Dediapada constituency in Narmada district of Gujarat, is the president of BTP.
Some of them are Vijaybhai Vasava (Olpad), Suresh Patel (Dharampur), Sameer Nayik (Nizar), Ghanshyam Vasava (Karjan), Mansukh Katara (Jhalod) and others.
Elections to the 182-member Gujarat Assembly will be held in two phases- December 1 and 5- and the votes will be counted on December 8.
