There’s no date yet for the Gujarat Assembly elections but hectic parleys are in full swing in the state. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat BJP president CR Patil, the party’s general secretary Ratnakar and CM’s principal secretary K Kailasanathan are in New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat on October 19 and 20. The BJP has planned mega rallies across the state, some of which will be addressed by Modi. Selection of candidates was also on the agenda of Patel and Patil during the Delhi visit.
CM Patel has called for a meeting of the state council of ministers on October 18. Some important announcements are expected in the October 18 meeting, such as compensation to farmers. Before the code of conduct is put into effect, it could be possible that office-bearers will be chosen for the board corporations.
