After Amir Khan’s “Laal Singh Chaddha” and Akshay Kumar’s “Raksha Bandhan”, netizens have now targeted Alia Bhatt’s “Darlings”.
Because of Amir Khan’s controversial statements about India, #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha has been trending on Twitter. Later, Akshay Kumar’s “Raksha Bandhan” was also a part of the boycott trend. One of the writers, Kanika Dhillon has been an active Twitter user where she is seen making anti- Indian tweets. Twitter users have dug up her old tweets and have claimed they won’t watch anything associated with that woman.

The Darlings trailer apparently has some scenes in her film “Darlings” where she is seen torturing her on-screen husband Vijay Varma, who is playing the role of Hamza Shaikh in the film. Netizens have not taken lightly to this portrayal of domestic violence against men. They have decided to boycott the film and the Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt.
Agitated users commented whatever their hearts contained on Twitter with messages such as “Everyone should #BoycottAliaBhatt for making a misandrist movie like Darlings. For bollywood, domestic violence on men is a matter of joke. Pathetic.” and “#BoycottAliaBhatt who is endorsing DV on Men. Imagine if the genders were reversed!”
Another one opined, “Karuna Nundy: Patriarchy is coming back like a cancer and metastasizing in court judgements. Meanwhile Alia Bhatt produces and acts in #Darlings endorsing Assault on Domestic Violence on Husbands while the nation stays mum. This whole Victimhood is a charade.”
One of the netizens wrote-“Guys be careful when you watch the movie Darlings with your family or girlfriend. As you might be the best partner for your wife/ girlfriend, But movies like Darlings may end up teaching your female partner to secretly physically abuse you in the future.”
