Born to Army doctors Ashok Chopra and Madhu Chopra, her life was no less than a roller coaster. After growing up in different locations, the actress won Miss World pageant at 18. Then in 2003, she made her Bollywood debut with the film The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, which was successful at the box office.
With movies like Aitraaz, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Andaaz, Fashion, and Dostana, she started to get recognization. She also won National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the film Fashion.
