Gujarat Rain Update: Vyara Receives Highest Of 32mm Rainfall On Saturday; Ahmedabad Records 2mm

| Updated: July 17, 2022 09:07

After receiving heavy to very heavy rainfall for the last few consecutive days, Gujarat on Saturday witnessed a little break from heavy rains. The reason behind this, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), is depression over northeastern Arabian Sea and offshore trough over the coastline of Gujarat.

This depression and monsoon trough will result into light and moderate rainfall across the state, added the weather forecasting department.

Vyara in Tapi district recorded a maximum of 32 mm rains – highest in the state till 8 pm on Saturday. Vyara was followed by Anand with a rainfall of 25 mm and Rajula in Amreli district with around 24 mm of rainfall on Saturday.

Talking about Ahmedabad, the city too received a fair amount of spells of rainfall on Saturday, with a cloudy atmosphere and recording a total of around 2 mm rainfall on average in a day. Bopal received a highest of 8.5 mm, Chandkheda recorded 6.5 mm, Odhav reported 3 mm, Gota 2.5 mm and Paldi, Rakhiyal, Ramol and Viratnagar received 2 mm rainfall each.

Season’s rainfall till Saturday morning:

Kutch – 100 per cent
South Gujarat – 72 per cent
Saurashtra – 56.6 per cent
Overall rainfall in Gujarat – 56.1 per cent
