According to reports on Thursday, a Pakistani man reportedly killed and boiled his wife in a cauldron. The incident occurred in the country’s Sindh province in front of their six children.
The police found the victim, named Nargis, body in a cauldron after her husband boiled her in a private school in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of the city on Wednesday.
Nargis’s husband, Ashiq from Bajaur Agency, lived in the servant quarters of the school where he worked as a watchman. The school was closed for around eight to nine months, as reported by the police.
The victim’s 15-year-old daughter called the police after the accused ran off with three children following the heinous murder.
The police now have custody of the three children, said Abdur Rahim Sherazi, the District East Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)
“They are shaken and traumatised,” said Sherazi.
He added that the police took the deceased to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
The children’s statements and the preliminary investigations suggest that the accused strangled his wife with a pillow before boiling her in the cauldron.
A victim’s leg also got severed from her body, reported Sherazi. The reason behind the murder is yet to be determined. The raids are said to be in process post the case registration.
According to reports, the victim’s husband forced her to commit illicit relationships and murdered her upon refusal.
November 2011 also witnessed a similar gruesome incident, where a woman killed her husband. The accused attempted to cook the victim’s body parts after he planned to marry another woman without her approval.
