As Gujarat continues to vaccinate people against Covid-19, vaccination for transgender as well as gay communities along with others has started from today. Three cities including Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara will start to administer vaccines to shemales and homosexuals. In the first phase, Gujarat targets to administer 2000 vaccine doses.
The vaccination awareness program was held for the targeted community where Ramya Mohan, Manvendra Kunwar, transgender, and kinsmen from Lakshya NGO were also present. The program was organised in collaboration with transgender, NGOs working for the transgender community and Government of Gujarat.
The State Government is committed to bringing awareness of vaccination in them. However, the Government ensures vaccinating more than the targetted number.
