The adoption scam in Gujarat exposed by the police has taken an interesting twist with the babysitter arrested for selling her ward, confessing that she sold her own child too because of poverty, The broker, Prashant Kamble from Maharashtra ha also confessed that he sold his biological child for Rs two lacs to a couple in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The babysitter Bindu Sharma was caught after she struck a deal to sell the child she was taking care of, to a couple in West Bengal. Meanwhile Gujarat police has arrested Amit Sharma, Bindu’s husband who had posed as the 11-month-old child’s father.
Shockwaves had spread amongst the working couples through the country after Ahmedabad-based Bindu Sharma, a babysitter reportedly was arrested after she had made a deal to sell an 11-month-old child she was taking care of, to a couple in West Bengal. The alert couple founding Bindu, who had posed as a mother, fishy alerted the Bengal police who in turn got in touch with Gujarat police. Bindu was arrested two hours before she was going to board a train with baby Rhea. Rhea’s parents were working professionals and were paying Bindu Rs 18,500 per month for the job. Bindu had told the Bengal couple that she was the biological mother of the child but wanted to give her up for adoption since she was poor. Her husband Amit Sharma has also been arrested after the police found that he was dealing with Prashant Kamble, a Maharashtra-based baby broker. The Chandkheda police is investigating the case.

Bindu Sharma, the babysitter was probed on August 6 where she put all the blame on Prashant claiming that it was out of sheer poverty that she was doing this and how she had sold her own biological kid in the past before taking up this job.
and claimed that she was innocent. The police are yet to ascertain if Bindu was part of any previous incidents. Bindu’s husband, Amit Sharma has been arrested by Chandkheda police on Monday.
Gujarat Police with the support of Maharashtra police has managed to track Prashant Kamble, a resident of Pune and a primary accused of the case. The police, after conducting an investigation based on technical surveillance and considering all aspects of the matter, found that Prashant Kumble and Bindu Sharma, the two accused, had earlier sold two children in the name of adoption.
Kamble made a confession on Monday to the police that he sold his child to a Lucknow-based couple for Rs 2 Lakh while Bindu Sharma also stated that she was forced to give up her biological child for adoption as she could no longer take care of the baby due to poverty. The police is investigating her claim.
