Kevadia village in Narmada district of Gujarat experienced a tremor of 3.1 magnitude, but there was no serious damage reported, according to the officials.
World’s largest Statue of Unity is also located near the Kevadia village where the tremor was seen on Monday night. The 182- meter statue was deliberately made in such a sturdy way that it could withstand hefty earthquakes and cyclones, says Rahul Patel, the monument’s public relations officer.
The Institute of Seismological Research, (ISR) revealed that the epicentre of the tremor was 12 km east-southeast of Kevadia, with a magnitude of 3.1 tremor and a depth of 12.7 km.
