Indian cricketer KL Rahul is in Germany to address a groin injury. Expected to spend close to a month in the country, he will miss the series against South Africa and the upcoming Fifth test against England. It may be recalled here that due to the Covid-19 outbreak in 2021, the test was shelved at the last minute. India was leading the incomplete series 2-1.
Rahul was announced as the captain for the T20Is against South Africa. After reporting to the National Cricket Academy (NCA), where the medical team assessed him, he was ruled out due to a groin injury, deciding he would not go to England for the Test. The opening batsman will miss the upcoming tour, but he is optimistic about recovering and returning to the national team.
However, the cricketer seems spirited. Sharing a picture with his fans on social media, he wrote: “Count your blessings.”
Meanwhile, Team India arrived in England on June 16 to begin the England tour. The men in blue will also play a four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire from June 24 to June 27.
Starting July 1, the team will play against England for the rescheduled Fifth match at the Old Trafford.
