The Board of Control for Cricket on Wednesday announced Team India’s line-up for two-match T20I series against Ireland and said that Hardik Pandya will serve as the team’s captain. The board also said that Suryakumar Yadav will return after his injury. Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, a pacer, has been appointed as his series’ deputy. On June 26 and 28, India will play two T20 Internationals in Dublin.
Rahul Tripathi, a right-handed batsman from Maharashtra, who hit more than 400 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad in this season’s IPL, is the sole new player in the lineup.
Sanju Samson, whose extravagance has been well-documented over the years, has a second chance at redemption after making a comeback for the series after leading Rajasthan Royals to the IPL championship game.
A different Indian team will play T20Is in Ireland. Therefore, Sharma, 35, will be in England for the rescheduled 5th Test along with Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Md Shami, Rishabh Pant, and others.
It’s interesting to note that VVS Laxman will lead the team as head coach, while Shitanshu Kotak, Sairaj Bahutule, and Munish Bali will act as his assistants.
Two North West Warriors players—pace bowler Conor Olphert and top-order hitter Stephen Doheny—have been called up to the team for the two-match T20I series against India.
