It’s been 14 days since two Indian army soldiers have been missing in Arunachal Pradesh. Harendra Negi and Prakash Singh Rana, both of whom are from Uttarakhand, were identified as the two 7th Garhwal Rifles soldiers. The army has not issued any official statement regarding this incident, yet.
According to Mamta Rana, Prakash Singh Rana’s wife, army officials called her on May 29 and told her that her husband had gone missing on May 28. Additionally, Mamta revealed that both soldiers were believed to have drowned in the river in the second phone call on June 9.
Mamta and her two children, Anuj (10) and Anamika (7), have been waiting for since last 14 days for substantial updates regarding Prakash.
Poonam Negi, Harendra Negi’s wife, finds it difficult to believe that both soldiers went near the river without anyone knowing it. They have been married just three years and have a one-year-old child.
Sahdev Singh Pundir, BJP MLA from Sahaspur, met Prakash Singh Rana’s family at their Sainik colony residence on Friday. According to sources Pundir has had a word about the incident with Union Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt, who has assured that action will be taken.
In addition, the details of the missing jawan have been forwarded to the Union Minister.
