A four-day Army Attachment Camp was organized by Golden Katar Division on behalf of the NCC Directorate of Gujarat, Dadar Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu between May 02 and 30, this year. The camp trained around 842 cadets and 17 associate NCC officers.
This training camp was titled ‘Army – A Way of Life’, where cadets from Senior Division NCC were exposed to routine functions of Army Establishments/Units during peacetime and their role in times of war. Additionally, the cadets were also introduced to the history of valour and sacrifice of the Indian Army, which fostered a sense of patriotism in them, as they participated in various training exercises including firing and obstacle course negotiation.
Through this training camp, the Army Unit aimed to provide cadets with an understanding of what it means to serve in the armed forces and to serve their country in a different way.
Similar training camps were conducted in the month of May across vivid directorates of NCC like Amritsar, Mysuru and Jammu and Kashmir. However, these training camps were conducted in collaboration with various schools and colleges of these regions, unlike the NCC Gujarat Dte camp, which was conducted by an Army Division.
